As educators, we often have constraints in what we can do in the classroom. The list of things we’re required to do is endless! What if you could teach between the lines? What if the requirements you had to do became a guideline, and you got to get deeper; deeper in your teaching and deeper with your students? That is what I have set out to do in my career in education. I strive to teach between the lines each and every day with my students and with my coworkers where regardless of what I must do, I search for opportunities to provide my students a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I decided to begin blogging during my 7th year of teaching. I have taught Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and currently teaching Fifth grade. I completed both my undergrad and graduate schooling from University of West Georgia, however I moved to North Alabama (Huntsville area) and have been teaching in this area since graduating with my bachelors in Early Childhood Education. After teaching for several years, I decided to go back for my masters in Reading Instruction which is where a great deal of my passion stems.
My hope for my readers is to find opportunities to collaborate and to build community. Often, putting yourself “out there” leads to judgement and criticism. However, I want this to be a platform for stealing ideas, celebrations of each other, and searching for ways to Teach Between The Lines!
